What is Mostadam?
Mostadam is the Saudi green-building rating system developed by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 sustainability goals. It evaluates projects across categories including site, transport, region and culture, energy, water, health and comfort, and materials and waste, with levels running from Green through Bronze, Silver and Gold to Diamond.
Most projects do best by engaging Mostadam from the start, taking a realistic target from the credit breakdown before the design is locked.

The design and construction stages
The design stage captures the projected rating through documentation and calculation, and the construction stage verifies that the project was built as designed. Energy, water and materials requirements must survive the journey from design intent to material submittals and site evidence.
What documentation sustains the rating
The rating is built on evidence: calculations, studies, reports and specifications that substantiate the claimed score, maintained continuously rather than recovered at the end. A coordinator who owns the documentation trail protects both the rating and the schedule.
When to start
Start before the design moves the key targets: orientation, envelope, water and materials. Requirements are far cheaper to set early than to retrofit later, and the same logic applies to any LEED alignment the project may carry for international markets.
